Sound user testing

Introduction

A game's music is very important and can affect the mood of the player at any time, In order to get the perfect music for the player's mind, I created five different pieces of music for the testers to listen to and then write down their most intuitive feelings and tell me how they rated the five pieces of music

Preparation

  • 5 different background music
  • Invite 3 students to listen and record their feedback

Result

Student one:

  • As a girl, I prefer smoother music; the first one is too loud; the second one has too much rhythm and makes me nervous; the third one has a bit of a high pitch and sounds strange; the fourth and fifth ones are more to my liking; I'd probably choose the fifth one because the overall rhythm is nice and soft.
  • Rank: 5 > 4 > 1 > 3 > 2

Student two:

  • I thought the second one would be much better, the rhythmic sound of the drums made my head spin as soon as the music kicked in.
  • Rank: 1 > 2 > 5 > 3 > 4

Student three:

  • The first one is good! Super upbeat and fast-paced, the second one is like a creepy kind of sound like in a horror game. I like it. The third one is lowkey has good bass to it and the fifth one is really good because it's space-themed. My favorite is the second one, it has a very distinct sound which would go well with a darker themed level or like a ghost level
  • Rank 2 > 3 > 1 > 5 > 4
