Introduction

This user testing has been performed after receiving feedback from level 2 background user testing that the obstacles and enemy were the same level to level which took away from the game experience. To respond to this feedback, the team created new designs for enemies that will be placed in the new level. This feedback session will be conducted to see how users respond to the new designs.

Description:

This session had the goal of gathering user feedback on the obstacles and enemy design for level 2. The user feedback wanted was specifically around how the design looked, how it was integrated into the game and as the feedback from level 2 background user mentioned that the game didn’t look like there was a change in level the user feedback would also test to see if users could recognise a new level was reached. For this reason, the same questionnaire form user in Background user testing session was used opt provide a direct comparison.

This session conducted consisted of user observations and user questionnaire forms to gain both quantitative and qualitative data.

The session followed the below process

  1. Users were given 5 minutes to observe and play in level 2.
  2. Users were then given the questionnaire to be conducted in private.
  3. Questionnaire were then taken from users, shuffled and results were analysed.

Results:

The results from the questionnaires showed a significant increasing with an average score across the board being a 9 out of 10 indicating that the users felt that the obstacles were well integrated, signified a progression in the game and were of a professional quality which achieved the goal of the user feedback sessions in this sprint. The questions 1, 3 and 4 which were focused on how the user perceived game progression saw a significant increase from the level 2 background testing questionnaires averaging a score of 9, 9.8 and 9 respectively which was a big improvement over the previous scores, 8.4, 6.2 and 6.4.
