FineBuild can Configure the Management API available for Analysis Services.

The AS Management API should be enabled as shown below.

The AS Management API configuration relates to Process Id 5BFB and is controlled by the parameters below:

In order to maintain compatibility with older versions of SQL FineBuild, the parameter /ConfigOLAPAPI: can also be used.

FineBuild also uses the following parameters to help configure analysis Services Properties:

Manual Configure AS Management API

The following steps show what you would have to do for manual AS Management API configuration. FineBuild does all of this work for you automatically.

1. Register the Analysis Services management DLL

   Open a command window and run the following command. Replace \100\ with the value for the SQL Server version you are installing

   SQL Version	Value
   SQL 2019	\150\
   SQL 2017	\140\
   SQL 2016	\130\
   SQL 2014	\120\
   SQL 2012	\110\
   SQL 2008 R2	\100\
   SQL 2008	\100\
   SQL 2005	\90\

   For a 64-bit server:

    "%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\SDK\Assemblies\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.dll"
   

   For a 32-bit server:

    "%PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft SQL Server\100\SDK\Assemblies\Microsoft.AnalysisServices.dll"
