CHRONUS Instrument Details

This page collects information that will be useful for the implementation of the IBEX control system on CHRONUS.

Background & Timeline

CHRONUS is an instrument on the Japanese-owned RIKEN-RAL Muon Facility at ISIS, on TS1. The CHRONUS web page describes the background to the instrument.

Control System

CHRONUS will migrate from the SECI control system to the IBEX control system in MMMMMMMM YYYY.

Note: Kepco System
  1. Kepco BIT 4886 is an interface card for Kepco bi-polar (BOP) power supplies. The fact that there is a Kepco interface card tends to imply that there is a Kepco power supply in the list of equipment on CHRONUS (but it does not seem to have been listed).

Note: Eurotherm

Eurotherms are used to control temperature Orange Cryostat, CCR and Furnace devices.

Note: Lakeshore
  1. Model 332. Model 332 has now been superseded by Model 335.

There are EPICS drivers for a variety of Lakeshore temperature controllers.

  1. Dilution fridge: models to be determined.
