Within this wiki, you will find tasks designed to introduce you to GitHub's project management features, and give you some more experience with branches and merging.
Although these tasks are not directly assessable, investing the time in yourself now (particularly at the beginning of semester, when workload is low) to build solid skills with Git and GitHub will reap immense reward in your future studies, and once you enter industry with your practical work internships.
These tasks are designed to be short, sharp, and to the point—but demonstrate a bit of what is possible with ample support to help you along.
Consistent, verifiable use of GitHub is assessable, but it is up to you whether you decide to invest the effort to develop fluency with branching and pull requests now.
💡 Note
- Familiarity with branches and pull requests is expected pre-requisite knowledge in COMPSYS 302.
- Hardware Engineers will also continue to use GitHub in ELECTENG 311, as well as once you enter industry.
