Ancient SGI Software

The Ancient Page. Track people, systems and software that can run on old SGI systems in order to keep a living history of the SGI platforms.
IRIX 4.x, 4D1 and GL2 are considered ancient versions of UNIX for SGI systems. IRIS, Personal Iris, Professional IRIS, Power Series and even Indigos should be able to run 4.x. PI and PS can run 3.x (4D1). Running these ancient os versions on old SGI hardware is Ancient SGI Experiences. Documenting the restoration of these systems and showing how they were used is a primary outcome of this effort.
