Translation Schedule
The Scratch website is usually updated weekly on Thursdays. Translations for the weekly build are pulled from Transifex on Tuesdays, around midday US Eastern time so that developers can prepare the weekly build for testing.
If there are errors in the translations, translations may not get updated in a particular week. Also, while not common, the weekly release can get postponed or skipped entirely if we discover serious bugs when we test the release. We do not release an update in the following weeks:
- during US code week (second week of December) to prevent disruption when the site traffic is especially high
- US Thanksgiving holiday (4th Thursday in November)
- weeks of Christmas and New Year's
The Scratch apps available for downloading on the downloads page are usually released on a monthly schedule at the beginning of the month*. As a result of extended testing, translations for the app build are usually pulled about two weeks before the end of the month for the next release.
*Note: the actual schedule depends on approvals from the respective stores: Apple Mac store, Microsoft store, and Google Play store.
