Introduction

Welcome to the libais wiki! libais is a parser for Automatic Identification System (AIS) messages sent to and from ships. AIS is primarily defined by the paywalled ITU 1371-3 (or newer) document. However, Eric Raymond has put together AIVDM.html, which does an excellent job of covering the details of the NMEA payloads returned from AIS receivers.

libais is covered under the LGPL V3 license. If you need a different license, please ask.
