What is ABAS?

ABAS is a commercial ERP System from ABAS AG in Karlsruhe, Germany. It follows a server client model with a proprietary object oriented data base. The application can be modified via FOP scripting language or with Java programming. FOP is simple and easy but not suited for complicated things as it works with jumps to labels and no functions or objects.

Overview

ABAS server runs on Linux, some Distributions are explicitly supported, like RedHat and Debian. The output uses CUPS for printing and open source reporting software for preparing the pages. FOP language can use shell commands and access data base with a proprietary query command language.
