Working with files
- Casebox is a web-based system. You can attach files to any record by clicking “+” icon to the right of the Files or by “dragging and dropping”.
You can also upload them by clicking “Upload”. Find and select the relevant file on the hard disk.
-
Casebox allows you to preview files within the system. For example, you can preview PDF files without having to download the file and opening Acrobat Reader. When you want to see a PDF file, search for it and click on the “PDF” symbol in the Preview panel (right column). You will be taken to another page where you can preview and download the file.
-
Casebox allows to edit and save documents and other files using Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the related tools in OpenOffice or LibreOffice without having to download and then upload the file concerned.
In order to do so, you need first to install a plugin called CBDav which you can download at https://www.casebox.org/userguide/cbdav/. This plugin works for Windows and Mac, select the appropriate version for your computer and install it according to the instructions given.
Double click an Office document, or click the Edit button in the preview panel, a popup will appear (use checkbox to hide it in the future).
- You can export a report of all records in a folder. Select the folder, and then click on the "more options" symbol with three dots, as indicated on the screenshot.
Select "Export" and the content of the folder will be exported as an HTML file.
