- Integrity: Maintain honesty and integrity in all contributions, whether they are in code, documentation, or communication.
- Collaboration: Open source thrives on collaboration. Be generous with your time, knowledge, and expertise. Be open to feedback and willing to give constructive feedback.
- Ethical Development: Prioritize ethical practices in development, ensuring that our projects contribute positively to society, the environment, and public goods.
- Be Respectful: Engage in constructive and respectful discussions. Disagreement is fine, but rudeness, personal attacks, or harassment will not be tolerated.
- Foster Inclusivity: Ensure everyone feels welcome. Discriminatory language or behavior related to race, gender, religion, or other aspects of identity will not be tolerated.
- Be Transparent: All decisions, whether technical or organizational, should be made transparently. Document your contributions clearly and openly.
- Commit to Collaboration: Share your work early, provide feedback generously, and ask for help when needed. We grow stronger by learning from each other.
- Respect the Community’s Purpose: The Greenpill Dev Guild is focused on building regenerative and ethical technology. Ensure that your contributions align with these goals.
- Be Responsible: Hold yourself and others accountable. Own your mistakes, learn from them, and strive for continuous improvement.
- Harassment: Any form of harassment, including personal attacks, trolling, or unwelcome contact, will not be tolerated.
- Discrimination: Discriminatory comments or behavior regarding race, gender, sexual orientation, or other personal attributes are unacceptable.
- Violence or Threats: Any form of violent or threatening behavior is grounds for immediate removal from the community.
- Unethical Practices: Contributions that knowingly harm the environment, society, or individuals, or involve dishonesty or deception, are strictly prohibited.
If you experience or witness any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please contact a member of the Greenpill Dev Guild stewardship team. All reports will be handled confidentially, and we will take appropriate action to ensure the safety and integrity of our community.
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. If a community member engages in unacceptable behavior, the stewardship team may take any action they deem appropriate, including but not limited to:
- A verbal or written warning.
- Temporary suspension from community spaces (such as GitHub, Discord, or Telegram).
- Permanent removal from the organization.
This Code of Conduct is based on guidelines from the Greenpill Dev Guild and other open-source community codes. It is an evolving document, and we welcome feedback from the community on how to improve it.
