Chocolatey does not check for nor provide native WoA versions of the packages, even if they are available. WinGet is the official Microsoft package manager and has matured over the years.

Good call. Could you also update the two other mentions of Chocolatey in the readme as well? Also I don’t think we need to necessarily tell people why we’re using winget since it’s the official package manager.

Seems like it is not in the base image (actions/runner-images#910). Are you ok with pulling in https://github.com/marketplace/actions/install-winget?

According to this Chocolatey is still the recommended package manager for GH runners, so maybe let’s keep it as is for now.
