Real-Time Clock DS3231 is interfaced with microcontroller via I2C Bus. The USART Peripheral is configured at 115200 Baudrate for printing debug messages from microcontroller via serial communication. The application part of maic.c program has an example of reading date and time from RTC DS3231.
