In this release, we have finalized all features and conducted extensive testing to ensure the reliability and accuracy of our assessments. Here are the key components of this release:
Land Use Plan Assessment: We have developed a detailed analysis process to assess whether property owners are executing their approved LUPs as intended. This involves a comparison of forest loss data against permitted land use to identify areas where unauthorized deforestation has occurred.
Deforestation Rates: We have performed a time series analysis on the output of the land use plan assessment to determine deforestation rates and quantify total areas at the national, department, district, and property levels.
Forest Cover: We have quantified forest cover across time using the yearly ‘forest cover’ datasets in conjunction with the Study Boundary dataset. This dataset was then subset into districts and departments.
This project is the culmination of our hard work and dedication over the past months. We would like to thank all contributors and our mentors for their support and guidance throughout this journey. While this marks the end of active development for this project, we encourage users and developers to use our work as a foundation for further research and development in this field.
