CssVerificator is a Rails application which checks 5 items around CSS for leveraging performances. This is a prototype. You are welcome to use, fork, improve, twist it.
Nicole Sullivan (@stubbornella) recently outlined the Top 5 Mistakes of Massive CSS. After a survey, Nicolle Sullivan found out that
- 42% Don’t GZIP CSS
- 44% Have more than 2 CSS external files
- 56% Serve CSS with cookies (yummy to eat, bad for static content)
- 62% Don’t minify (check out the YUI Compressor!)
- 21% Have greater than 100K of CSS
We then decided to create a service that would help Web developers fix these 5 items only for leveraging performances on their Web sites.
The project has been created in Rails 2.3.8.
