We're looking for creative ways to visualize paleontological data. A fresh look at existing data can help us discover new ways of thinking about the science of dinosaur study. What can your perspective tell us about the past?
- Show impact of evolution on skeletal structure (for example, with CT scans, fossil skull morphs to modern skull)
- Relationships between species (ancient and modern)
- Another example - biogeography, show diversity of species as related to location but on an ancient map instead of a modern one (see Paleobiology for fossils found in U.S. - what if it was mapped to what the continents looked like during the Cretaceous?)
- Diversity curves over time
- Onezoom Tree of Life Explorer and its software - example visualization site
- Fossilworks
- Paleobiology DB
- Paleobiology DB github repo
- Paleobiology Comprehensive R Archive Network packages
- Plot.ly - for scientific plots
- Chart.js - for chart visualizations
- CartoDB - maps and location data
