This project is an advanced plugin designed specifically to integrate seamlessly with OpenFlipper, a powerful 3D modeling and animation tool. To utilize its capabilities, it is necessary to also include the CoMISo library, which provides advanced computational geometry functionality. Together, this plugin and the CoMISo library provide a comprehensive set of tools to create Quad Meshes.
- Create a new plugin folder in the OpenFlipper project
- Clone the repository into the new folder
git clone https://github.com/Wuschelbueb/interactive-quadmesh-design.git
- Make sure CoMISo is part of OpenFlipper
- Build OpenFlipper with an IDE or editor
It is extremely easy to use. First make sure that you loaded a 3D object of your choice.
- Click the select button
- Click once on a vertex to select it
- Double-click anywhere to set the Cross Field direction
- Set the distance - size of selection
- Set the h parameter - size of the quads
- Click the preview button for a preview
- if you are not happy with the preview go back to step 1
- Let the CoMISo solver solve the Mixed-Integer equations.
- You end up with a Quad Mesh preview of the selection.
- If you aren't happy with it, start at step 1 again.
- If you would like to save it, go to step 4.
- Save the 3D object with the texture anywhere you like.
- Load it up with the OpenGL visualization tool.
