Turquoise is the first major release of Variscite, bringing to the table many improvements since March.

Major features

Interactive Mode

This is the big one, just run Variscite with no arguments and you'll be guided through the process of patching the IPA.

Better macOS and Linux Support

Variscite has been tested to work properly on x86_64 and arm64 versions of both macOS and Linux.

Other smaller things

  • Prepare for proper jailbroken iOS support (currently disabled)
  • Prepare for downloading of arbitrary files
  • Improved resiliency if you aren't running on macOS, Linux or iOS
  • Clean up some things
  • Probably other stuff I forgot

Installation

Before installing, check compatibility in the the README.

Variscite doesn't really need to be installed, you can just run it from any directory.

  1. Download Variscite.sh below
  2. Open a terminal and cd to your downloads folder (typically ~/Downloads)
  3. Run chmod +x Variscite.sh to make the script executable. (You only need to do this once)
  4. Run ./Variscite.sh to run Variscite.
