+*Assort* was born on 9 June, 2022.
+
+That’s not even that long ago, yet it feels like *Assort*’s been here as long as I can remember.
+
+The lore goes something like this... I needed a place to store level codes for my [custom Appel levels](Scratch/Appel/). I'd only recently started using GitHub, but I thought a repo would do nicely. Somewhere along the way, the idea popped into my mind for a repo that would hold many of my personal projects.
+
+You can see *Assort* grow and blossom in the months that follow, as I come to realise I can put everything – *everything* – I create here.
+
+Why do I love *Assort*?
+
+It is me. It is all of me, pure as can be. Etched into the commit hashes of this repo are the days and nights of my life, years of loving work, the essence of my soul.
+
+I didn’t create *Assort* for anyone other than myself. Sure, I put a lot of stuff in here in the hopes that someday, another stray soul will stumble upon it in delight – but regardless whether that happens or not, I find contentment in creating content. It’s fun for me to read my own work, especially stuff I haven’t touched in years, and reminisce about all the stuff I was into. Sometimes, my past genius dazzles me.
