The Xenia frontend is here!

The frontend is still basic, but functional. Once again starring the amazing background work of TXF! Special thanks to Reverie and TRW for hours and hours of testing for this build!

Remember to set Xenia to Game mode, and not App mode, or Xenia will not work!

Changelog

• The games list will now read the title from GOD files, plus the XEX name detection has been improved.
• A custom background.png can now be loaded from your /content folder. (Found in LocalState by default).
• Additional settings have been added to the Settings tab, along with some minor improvements.

Note from those updating from 1.0.1 and older

Previously we had an option called skip_frontend which was set to true to hide an experimental frontend window, if you are updating, your old configs may contain this setting and you will not see the frontend. This will not effect you if you do not copy your old configs.

The Xenia frontend is here!

The frontend is still basic, but functional. Once again starring the amazing background work of TXF! Special thanks to Reverie and TRW for hours and hours of testing for this build!

Changelog

• New frontend, including a games list and settings menu.
• Fixed in-game OS UI immediately disappearing.
• Added an on-screen keyboard for the OS UI that needs it, such as Minecraft.

Xenia for UWP (Canary)

• mount_cache and mount_scratch are now forced to write to the LocalState folder, fixing the retail crash with the defaults.
• Improved defaults for a slight performance increase. Thanks to chrispy from the Xenia team for the advise!
• Added Retropass support* (pending a new Retropass release)
• Forced 1080p until the cause of strange zooming bug is identified.
• Fixed a couple crashes.

Known Issues

• The OS UI (ie create a new save, select a drive, etc) sometimes disappears immediately or doesn't show up. We are not currently sure why, it doesn't effect everyone.

If you want to use the new defaults from a previous install, make sure to delete your xenia-canary.config.toml file in LocalState!

Xenia for UWP 1.0.0

Xenia for UWP (Canary)

I have reworked the original implementation and implemented it into the canary branch.

• Significantly more games now work, thanks to Canary and the new defaults. Thanks to Rookie and Is It Playable for all their hard work on that!
• Xenia on UWP now runs significantly faster, thanks to Canary's improvements.
• In-game 'OS ui' now works, fixing a lot of games such as Sonic 4!

Give a big thanks to the Xenia Team for all their work, and to chrisphy especially for giving me advise and helping me solve some problems! Special thanks to Reverie for everything they do! Enjoy!

Xenia for UWP

Initial UWP support for Xenia!

This is an early implementation of UWP running on Xenia!
Make sure xenia-uwp is set to Game mode, otherwise it will crash on launch!

Known problems include:

• Some games crash randomly, related to AMD drivers.
• When a game requires 'OS level input' (aka inputting text, Yes/No prompts, etc), the game may freeze.
