Developer workflow: Updating generated content

This is internal information for the developers on this project.

Updating generated content

Some content in this Github repository is generated. This includes

• PDF files, i.e. the MrBayes manual etc.
• The configure script.
• Each Makefile.in file.

When changing the source of any of the above, remember to also regenerate the documents that depend on these sources, and check these in.

So, if you make an update to the manual, for example, rebuild the PDF document and check in both the changes to the manual and the new PDF file.

Rebuilding the manual should be as easy as doing make in the top-level directory, in the doc subdirectory, or in the doc/manual subdirectory.
