Coming back to this project at the start of Phase 3, I see the following things to do:

This PR will (eventually) contain my first tutorial notebook, on how to generate a template image. Not yet ready for code review! We can use this thread to discuss the things I have done so far, and the issue thread #48 to discuss the DIA project overall.
