### [Minecraft Launcher](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download) (vanilla)

The Fabulously Optimized Installer is quite new and may have issues. If you find any, please report them to [GitHub](https://github.com/Fabulously-Optimized/installer/issues) or [Discord](https://download.fo/discord/) and use the manual method below.

1. Download [Fabulously Optimized Installer](https://download.fo/vanilla) and run it
* Windows: Open the .exe file, click `More info` and then `Run anyway`.

End-User must install WebView2 to use app properly as otherwise it will crash as it is a dependency, Please consider making a statement for it. (in case it's somehow missing)

I don't think it needs to be in wiki when 99% don't need it; for the 1% there can be an error in the installer itself (suggested)

* macOS: Open the .dmg file, **right click** the "Fabulously Optimized Installer" and click `Open`, click `Open` again when asked in a prompt.
* Linux: Open the .appimage file and click `Run once` when prompted.
2. Select preferred FO/Minecraft version and install
3. Run Minecraft Launcher. You'll see the new installation, click PLAY.

Currently the only way to update is to "reinstall" the pack. Consider installing a different launcher for a smoother upgrade experience.

Note: you may now see a new file _paigaldaja_meta.json_ next to the installer. This is a configuration file that ensures smoother upgrades and remembers some of your install settings.

I support the latest stable modpack version and latest development modpack version (if any), other versions are listed just for your convenience. To make it even simpler, I usually keep only one modpack version per Minecraft version visible on CurseForge.

#### Why won't the installer show versions older than 5.10.3?

These versions are old and therefore no longer recommended for most users. Please [use manual install](install-instructions.md#minecraft-launcher-vanilla) if you'd like to use them.

#### Will you support Minecraft snapshots?

No, they are not supported on CurseForge Launcher and are released too fast for me and the modders to keep up with.
