PolyPen: hovering geo that shares face with selected edge

with an edge selected, hovering over another edge that shares a face with selected edge does nothing. (no snapping, only inserts new triangle)

hovering a vert that shares a face with selected edge does seem like it will split the face, but instead it only selects the shared face.

with a vert selected, hovering over another edge or vert that shares a face works as expected.

Switching to a knife action whenever hovering over existing geo would be an awesome improvement. The open question is where the cut should start from, but I think you could just use the center of the selection.
