GTD Projects and Next Action Step

Hi there,

I am a huge Trilium fan and find it perfect for notes. But I find myself not just taking notes with it, but organizing pretty much everything.

However, I would like to propose an enhancement to the current system that aligns with the GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology, which I'm a huge fan of as well.

Feature Details:

Projects Note:

• Introduce a dedicated "Projects" note acting as the main hub for all projects.

Project Structure:

• Each sub-note under "Projects" represents an individual project.

Checklist Manual Ordering:

• Allow manual ordering of tasks within each project's checklist, reflecting the priority and sequence of tasks.

Main Projects Note Checklist:

• Dynamically populate a checklist on the "Projects" note.
• This checklist includes the topmost unchecked task item from each project.
• This provides a quick overview of the next actions for all active projects.

Single Action Project Exception:

• Recognize a "Single Action Project" type for tasks not associated with a larger project.

Project Definition:

• Utilize the GTD definition of a project: if it requires two or more action steps, consider it a project.

Outcome:

This feature enhancement would offer a streamlined GTD experience within Trilium, emphasizing project-based organization and providing a concise overview of upcoming tasks. Plus a beautiful reference system to go along with every project.
