Description

I tried to create a patch thinking about Kernel version 6.12.1. However, I had some problems.
Do we have an estimate for making this patch available?
thank u

I suppose you ask about support for kernel 6.12 for external module (and not patch for upstream inclusion), is it right?
I haven't had time to follow this project lately and there haven't been any new commits that have enabled automatic tests with the latest version, so I don't know if there's an actual incompatibility (it's likely) or if it's due to missing parts of a custom configuration you're using, it would always be better to include build logs with errors.

That's right. Support for kernel 6.12 for external modules.
I will test on lk6.9.x, and wait for changes about a new possible patch. We are several kernel versions ahead of 6.9 already, and I believe that 6.12 should enter as a Long Term. It would be an opportunity to move forward with patch lk6.12.

Okay. I will wait.
I'm now using the module compiled after compiling the Kernel. Without patching the Kernel directly. I think it works too... (veeamblksnap.ko)

5 days ago new branch with support up to kernel 6.12 was added: https://github.com/veeam/blksnap/tree/VAL-6.3
Seems also VAL 6.3 was released: https://forums.veeam.com/veeam-agents-for-linux-mac-aix-solaris-f41/veeam-agent-for-linux-t39579.html

Hi.

Yep. VAL-6.3 is available and support 6.12.
Alas, there is no way to deal with the patch.
Sorry. The work list is filled with work items for the next release.

Although, there should be minor differences.
I'm sure it won't be difficult to fix the patch for compatibility with the 6.12 kernel.
