I am not sure if this is intentional or if it is a bug, but none of the armor items are enchantable. I tried putting 'Reading 1' from Bibliocraft and Blast Protection 4 on the helmet and it denied me; nothing showed in the finished product box. Went to creative and tried the chest piece an leggings as well; same result (this time with strictly vanilla enchants).
Like I said, I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature; but it is somewhat annoying.
EDIT: I suppose I should give my sys run down (no crash report thankfully): SMT ver. MC1.7.10-0.2.0-alpha-80; Forge 1236; Windows 7. If you need anything else, let me know and be patient, I'm not a smart man when it comes to computers.
EDIT 2: Found a work around. Using the /enchant command, I was able to enchant the helmet as desired. ( /enchant [player name] [enchant ID] [enchant level (eg - 3 for prot 3)]. For note, most; if not all, enchants from mods can be found in the config file - and the Reading enchant ID is 196, Magnetization from the Falling Meteors mod is 157, and the rest can be found here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-discussion/creative-mode/365638-enchantment-id-list
