Asset Abbreviation Additions - Strobic Fan, Access Control And Security Assets

  1. On 'door release button,DRRB': could you use existing abbreviation 'access control - request to exit,RTE,,IfcSwitchingDevice,CONTACTOR,1'? We can add in the description (door release button)

  2. controller - door controller,DRC,,IfcController,PROGRAMMABLE,1 is agreed and can be added as suggested

  3. Could you please provide a data sheet for

  • door - electric lock,ELOCK
  • door - latch lock,LLOCK
    to help us understand the difference with existing abbreviations (eg door - magnetic lock)?
  1. emergency assistance - panic duress button,PDB, is agreed and can be added as suggested.

  2. Strobic fan - we understand it is a company specific item (named by the company which produces it) - would it be possible to use a more generic extract fan abbreviation for this or not?

  3. sensor - door contact sensor,DRCNTS,SENSOR,IfcSensor,CONTACTSENSOR,1 - note: this is related to Add DC - Door Contact Asset  #303

@RitaLav

  1. Yes, that is fine - we will use the existing abbreviation, RTE with the description of "door release button".

  2. Thank you.

  3. No problem, we will send you the datasheets for the doors with electric and latch locks when we receive them.

  4. Thank you.

  5. Yes, we will use the existing "fume hood exhaust fan" | FHEX to represent the strobic fans.

  6. A new abbreviation for a door contact would be ideal to differentiate it from other contact sensors if they are added (i.e. a window contact), but the already existing "sensor - contact sensor" | CNTS can be used.

So, from the above, the only outstanding items would be the door electric and latch locks, which we will send you a datasheet for once received. Thank you.

@RitaLav
The two datasheets received are attached. It seems that they do not have a latch door lock, but rather a magnetic door lock and a electric door lock.
With the above being said, a latch lock would be useful to have in BDNS to differentiate it from the other two (it being mechanical/latching rather than electrical or magnetic). Example of a mechanical latch: https://www.abloy.com/gb/en/products/mechanical-locking/lockcases/mortice/euro-profile/4203-mechanical-latch
