As an implementer, we keep detailed comments of the spec as we implement it (example) . However, not all changes to the spec necessitate updating those comments, or that code, immediately. So we end up having old spec text and old implementations that might not be an issue at the time, but become and issue as the spec drifts further and further. We have two tools right now for this, searchfox and arai's spec compare tool. Can we make this process better?
