What about open source?

Whether software is open source or not, software can be powerful, useful, and efficient.

I develop and maintain open source projects because I enjoy its differentiating benefits. Open source projects provide the community with code, tools, and knowledge so they can learn to improve and make software more powerful in a collaborative manner.

I work on open source projects by choice. With sponsorship, you provide financial support so I can further use my time in developing, maintaining, and even adding new features to these projects.

What kind of open source work?

Web archiving software

Web archiving software is used to preserve an untainted copy of a website or file in the event when the original resource is no longer available. Such software and resulting archives are very niche but can be extremely important for researchers, historians, and even for you. I want to provide people the archiving tools they need.

I develop and maintain software and servers used by ArchiveTeam, a collaboration of volunteer archivists who archive websites of significant interest, for example, GeoCities.

Software libraries

Software libraries are reusable packages of code. Some libraries provide everyday functionality and have many dependant users, while some libraries are more modest and provide specialized functionality.

I rely on these libraries to help build my projects. Whenever a library does not work, I contribute back to the project by investigating bugs and provide fixes whenever I can.

Other

I have a few other miscellaneous projects that I have created over time. Occasionally, there will be requests for help or bug fixes and I would like to provide the support they need too.
