Installation
PrimeHack is only for Metroid Prime: Trilogy
PrimeHack needs Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Redistributable 2019 x64 to be installed.
The PrimeHack Updater downloads PrimeHack automatically, and keeps it updated. You can use the updater as a launcher to go directly into the game or to just start Dolphin.
To use the updater, place PrimeHack.Updater.exe
into a folder and run it.
You can set the launcher to boot directly into Metroid Prime: Trilogy
by setting a QuickLaunch path.
You are given three options.
-
Yes will make the Updater boot directly into your selected ISO
-
Never will only start Dolphin and will not ask again.
-
Ask Later will show this screen the next time you start the Updater.
You do not need to use the Updater, you can simply download PrimeHack directly and extract it into an empty folder.
PrimeHack is offered in an Ishiiruka version as well as the regular version of PrimeHack. You can download this manually or alternatively use the PrimeHack Updater.
You can make the PrimeHack Updater download Ishiiruka instead by editing updater.cfg
and setting mainbranch to False
If you haven't setup Dolphin before, you'll see a grey screen asking you to set a game directory. You can double click this window and select the folder containing your dump of Metroid Prime: Trilogy.
Alternatively you can navigate to Config > Paths
and select Add...
You can change your PrimeHack controls and settings by going to Controllers > Wii Remote 1 Configure > PrimeHack
Camera Sensitivity is your regular aiming sensitivity. Cursor Sensitivity is the mouse sensitivity in menus.
The reticle is locked, meaning the original beams and visor menus are unusable, so PrimeHack disabled them. In order to select beams or visors, you must press an associated bind or use the Next
/Previous
binds to scroll through them.
By default, you select Scan Visor by pressing E + 1
, the same way you do Ctrl + C
to copy. To select Power Beam, you simply press 1
.
PrimeHack has defaults designed to play all three Metroid games. This includes controls to change beams and visors, and motion controls in Prime 3. Dolphin's defaults can cause minor issues with PrimeHack.

We highly recommend you press this button to ensure these defaults are selected.
