I think it might be possible to help people upload a new dataset if they supply a file stack.txt that has the file names in order.
Another possibility is to allow people to supply a regexp or force people to format their TIFF names in a particular.
Other options can be supplied at the command line like whether the TIFFs are uniform in their dimensions and offset or if the files have to be scanned for dimensions before determining volume size.
