Depending on how different your mouse is, you might also have to record a USB session while you change settings in Armoury Crate. This logs all messages that get sent to your device via USB and helps me to understand how armoury Crat changes the settings. It seems the protocol of the various mice are not too different. But they have a few variations here and there which are important for it to function. |

@seerge Might it be possible to clean up this thread a bit? Like all mice that are already implemented. The reason is that Github seems to really struggle with such long posts that it became a real pain to find posts here and answer to the right one. Oh and yeah. I still lack hardware access to implement keyboards, headphones, controllers and whatever else ASUS sells with RGB. Like.. anything except mice and the Ally. |

@seerge Yeah, that would be even better. We just have to keep track here or somewhere else, which mouse is already supported. I hope I can one day get my hand on other peripherals to support them... People seem to request controllers, headsets and especially keyboards a lot. |

@IceStormNG is it possible to refresh the mouse tab every time physically change DPI mode so that it displays current DPI mode correctly? eg: to change DPI value to 500,1000,1500,2000 , change DPI 1 to 500 , then physically change to DPI 2 then close the mouse tab and reopen the mouse tab to be able to change value for DPI 2 since mouse page don't refresh after clicking physical DPI button. |

No you do not have to do that. You can still click the DPI button and change the DPI for the other settings. You do not have to click the Synchronize mouse button at all. This is more of a "fix" if the mouse does not read correctly. I added a change that you can still cycle through the DPIs in GHelper. They will not change the active profile on the mouse but you can change the different DPIs without having to do some weird dance. |

I picked a setting that just toggles on and off to keep things simple for myself and checked packets for a single bit flip. If I've got this right, maybe I could save you some busy work and tackle the rest. These are the packets I see getting sent when toggling angle snapping on: When turning angle snapping off, it flips the 01 in column 5 to 00. Each of these is the first of 7 packets that gets sent, but all subsequent packets are identical regardless of whether I'm turning angle snapping on or off. Here are the other 6 for reference: Everything comes through on pipe handle: 0xd7d10c10 (Endpoint Address: 0x4) This is what's sent when directly changing settings; i.e. I haven't looked at what happens when syncing or saving to the mouse's onboard memory. |

I've got it showing under peripherals now. It's reporting all my settings accurately; I've also gone through each control and they all seem to work. I've attached the log generated during my messing around. I can also confirm that closing and re-opening the window for mouse control will allow me to see the current DPI setting without manually synchronizing. This looks good. So from the log it seems like your mouse can indeed switch the DPI profiles via software. Armoury just locked that away. The moues confirms the DPI switch and does not error out (unlike the ROG Keris, which does error out). What wrong PIDs do you mean? There are other things in GHelper that work with HID devices, like the keyboard AURA, AnimeMatrix and other stuff. Maybe the logs are from that. |

You’re welcome. :) Keep in mind that Armoury Crate will always overwrite all mouse profile when you connect the mouse to a PC with AC running. Ghelper does not store the profiles on your PC but only on the mouse. It edits the onboard profiles directly. |

yeh it does no problem its just when u change dpi with the button thats on the mouse i should close the mouse settings to see if it changed or not but it does its just some visual think and i dont care about some closing and opening again everything else works fine thx |

You can also hit "synchronize mouse" to re-read the mouse. You don't have to close the window. Yeah. The moue does not re-read the active profile all the time. |

Everything works great, even the battery % when changing batteries. Only for the lift off distance, even though the tick stays selected it doesn't change any behaviour. But I don't think this is your fault. In the armoury crate, as you can see in the original screenshots, it is not available to change. I believe you can push it! Thanks |

Yeah. Some mice have endpoints they respond to and store the value, but it does nothing. Maybe it was intended to support it and got scrapped during development. I guess I will remove the Lift-Off distance from the mouse as it seemingly does nothing. Although, the difference is not that large either way. Even on my Chakram, which has the setting, I could barely tell which one is active. Thanks for testing and the usb capture. Will push the mouse profile then. |

What about a warning dialog? The same with the ASUS ACPI where the user can acknowledge that is not a supported device and features are limited or quit the app. |

Replying here since we have the same mice, I also have a ROG Gladius II w/ model P502, have the same screenshots also in AC. Tried @IceStormNG's build of GHelper, only clicking the image below will only give an exception. Log and USB Device Tree Viewer output is also provided below for my case in case there are any differences in usbdtv.

Harpe ACE Aim Lab Edition is a 2.4G wireless mouse, and ROG now update it's usb receover to support a new function that you can use two different supported device by just one receiver. And now the receiver changed it's name to OMNI Receiver, So maybe there are some differents between other mouse. I think their is no need to implement all the function, power indication and performance edit are enough. Azoth is a keyboard with an OLED panel and a control knob. To implement all the function in the armoury create are too difficult I think, so maybe you can just finish the power indication, that's the most useful function. |

Maybe at some point. The BT protocol works differently afaik and is limited on some mice compared to the Dongle or wired connection. I might add it at some point but right now, some mice are already challenging enough on its own. |

Do you mean firmware updates for the mouse? If so, I prefer to not touch that topic. I actually have a packet capture on how this works, but I prefer not to do that as it is too easy to brick the mouse. Firmware updates for the mouse are also not required if it works and they're rather rare. Otherwise, install AC on a spare PC to run the upgrade (it doesn't seem to work inside a VM, tried that already). Or do you mean something else with "updates"? |

Oh, wow! This is great progress and makes sense I had to use the XOutput with ViGEnBus driver for it to show up on rewasd and then use rewasd software to program the device. It only shows up as an Xbox 360 controller and can't use the Xbox one features or back pads. I will try installing this app and see if it unlocks any other possibilities for me. I really appreciate the updates! |

Bad news... very bad news. So, I could get this to work on any OS that is not Windows, but Windows has the Xboxgip filter driver in place that makes sure only certain apps can connect to the \.\XboxGip and \.\XboxGip_Admin. I can connect to the regular XboxGip and send data, they're never forwarded to the Controller though. The necessary IOCTLs that I have to do are also "Access_Denied". Both the Xbox Accessories app and also AC use the same way to communicate with the controller, through this locked API. Another solution could be the GDK, which is under NDA and also for registered Game developers. We would need a custom class, the GipGameControllerProvider class, which I can access and use, cannot send custom commands. Only the regular ones which are standard XboxOne compatible. All commands by AC are 0x21 ID, which is extended command, and is disallowed by the GipGameControllerProvider. The class is also sealed, which means we cannot extend it. So, I know exactly what to send, and where. I can connect. But I'm not allowed to send this because Microsoft doesn't want me to, and ASUS didn't implement a regular HID for this, but uses an extension of the WinRT Gaming Input, which is fine for them, as they're registered Xbox Accessoires developers, but a problem for us, as we cannot send the data. Funnily, I could get it to work on Linux, where I can just raw send USB data to the device without filter driver in place. Oh. and we cannot remove the driver, because the controller would not work anymore then. |

@LvLOn3 as you kindly donated the game pad for implementing it, which seems to be impossible for us due to ASUS chosing the most locked down way, do you want that money back? The whole access is locked down, and until MS stops acting like Apple and controlling everything, you have to use AC to configure the controller (even if just in a VM). As much as I don't want to give up, the only solution is a custom filter driver, which is another can of worms (due to signing, secureboot, anti-cheat). Therefore, until something changes here, or someone finds a way to bypass the permission checks, the Raikiri cannot work in GHelper. I'm very sorry for that. |

AC will not read the settings from the mouse. So if you change anything in Ghelper, AC will just overwrite it with the settings it has stored. You can test however when you change a setting in AC, then open GHelper and click on the synchronize button, whether GHelper shows the new settings that AC configured. |

For GHelper I mainly do peripherals as they get requested (and as I can get access to hardware, which is the main issue as ASUS hardware is quite pricey. And I just ordered a 160€ controller and 100€ earphones and send them back pretty much immediately. Amazon isn't gonna like that). There is one bug with the AniMeMatrix Audio Visualization that I want to fix at some point (if this even possible as MS also makes this as hard as possible). Otherwise, there is not much to add to GHelper for me. It usually just works. |

I understand that it would defeat the purpose of being Lightweight. One thing i can say that Ghelper did help me with is that I have a flow z13 and a xg mobile 3080 and when using Armory Crate It thermal Throttles but when i use Ghelper it doesnt which makes me think they are trying to harm older devices thought updates so that you have to upgrade to the new stuff. I reported it to them and no fix. |

What they do is to throttle using dynamic tuning with higher prio for the GPU. This can cause the CPU to throttle without good reason. My M16 also does that with AC. The CPU gets capped to 30W even in Turbo mode so the GPU can go full power. In most games which are high GPU load, this usually tends to work, but in CPU demanding games, it causes weird crap. And also loading stutters. |

MSI releases an ally clone with Intel Meteor Lake. Sadly, AMD is too slow and has a big problem of not producing enough chips for all the OEMs. So they use Intel instead even if it is worse. |

Hi @IceStormNG First, I don't know if this is the same for all supported devices. When charging, the Gladius III wireless writes 4 lines/minute to the log file. Perhaps writing at the start charging and at the end charging would be sufficient ? :) |

There is no BT support yet, as I haven't put any research into that yet, and likely won't in the near future. The Problem with BT is that most mice are very limited in that mode, either by polling rate or by the features they support. |

This is a known limitation as it uses the Omni Receiver. Right now, only the Harpe Ace works with the Omni receiver. It will take some time for me to get some of those Omni Mice here and find out how to detect which is which behind the receiver. |
