Some letters are way too close together, such as the control panel text on the start menu:

And yes, I know it isn't recomended to disable anti-aliasing, but I still want to know if it is possible.

First I would check your Hinting setting, in the same place as the AA checkbox. Try Slight and Full to see if they make much difference.

Failing that you might be able to do something with fontconfig ... I know FreeBSD has some pretty bad kerning when Tahoma is set, I haven't experimented much with it yet to know of a sure fix myself atm.

The first screenshot is with hinting at full and this is with hinting slight:

Image Going into Appearence->Fonts and setting the custom DPI scale to 97 appears to fix it!

Although, some things appear to still be to close together

Unfortunately setting the DPI any higher breaks the scaling so some manual tweaking with fontconfig may still be required. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the results! 😊
