These ideas are not set in stone. This issue is just a place to collect them, for concrete "must have"/need features please open separate issues.

  • define a set of metadata attributes "required" for an ML experiment (metrics, hyperparameters etc)
  • add explicit namespace attribute
  • add single hash UID (~CAS?)
  • add diff method between Artifacts (would enable diffing ML experiment Artifacts)
  • collect packages imported at the Artifact construction
  • flatten the arbitrary attributes into the metadata
  • record the type of the Artifact in the arbitrary metadata
