When to go to Redpanda docs vs. Kafka docs? #3380

@danthegoodman1 - good point, i think this is a gap in our docs. For the settings we provide, we should have a link that says we support the same, but we should also have a section that says what each setting does. by and large, we work very hard to be compatible with upstream to lessen the cognitive dissonance, but we should fix. Feel free to open any tix here. |

For example, I could barely find are reference to topic level retention settings (retention.ms) in Redpanda, and am assuming the Kafka docs will suffice.
It would be nice if there was a suggestion in the docs on when to look to Kafka docs.
