Matrix of scenarios. We have a set of configurations for a source topic (e.g. compaction, size, acks=setting, etc...) and a set of operations on a source topic (e.g. truncation, ...) and then this defines a matrix of scenarios. Each cell in the matrix is then a source topic scenario.

On the other side is that materialized topics can have different configurations. Examples might be scenarios like a newly registered materialized topic or different offset management policies.
