This issue will track research around the support of self managed Rancher clusters using CAPI, a rough list of what needs to be looked at:

  • Create a cluster with kind(or any other)
  • Deploy CAPI with operator
  • Create a CAPI cluster
  • Investigate move operation for operator managed CAPI installation, with CLI plugin of API
  • Find out if we can install Rancher+Turtles on top of already running CAPI Operator and CAPI controllers
  • Develop a plan on how all these operations can automated for users
