The group a node is in can be modified using

   alpenhorn node modify NODE --group=GROUP

but it might make sense to also allow

   alpenhorn group add-node GROUP NODE

with the idea that its list of nodes can be seen a property of a group, as well as being thought of as a property of a node.

Thoughts?
