Podverse syncs its podcast directory with Podcast Index (the world's largest open podcast directory), but we sync at about a 15-30 minute delay with Podcast Index. Detecting podcast feed updates quickly is very tricky, as many podcast feeds do not automatically notify directories like Podcast Index when their feed has updated, so directories have to check over and over if a new episode was released. In order to keep this process affordable for 4+ million podcasts, directories will assign different values to feeds like "check for an update every X hours" or "every X days" or "every X weeks." If you are seeing a delay that is taking more than 30 minutes than when you expected it to be updated, you'll need to email Podcast Index at [email protected], and let them know you'd like a podcast to be updated faster. |
