What happened?

When selecting "Custom" the web part does not show any items and the page crashes/loads infinitely.

See old and closed issue that has the same problem: #1815

Steps to reproduce

  1. Add rss feed reader web part
  2. Edit the web part (open sidebar menu)
  3. Select Custom on page 2
  4. Apply
  5. Page hangs and loads forever

Edit: Added screenshot of what I see. The browser is unclickable once you press Apply.

Expected items to show with the default custom template.
