react-clendar web part - Enhancement request - filter (say by category)

I love this web part. It allows classic mode "Calendar" lists to be used in a "modern pages" setting. Great work.
What I'd love is the ability to add an odata FILTER condition to the web part properties that limits the items retrieved by category
e.g

$filter=Category eq "Meeting"

OR
Better still to have a dropdown at the top of the calendar, populated by the categories:
All
Meeting
etc.

Then have a web part property that lists the DEFAULT category to display
