OPAL is not finding the Policy when setup with API Bundle Server

I want to setup OPAL to get the Policy from an API Bundle Server instead of a git repo.

I have followed the example in docker-compose-api-policy-source-example.yml

OPAL Server downloads the bundle.tar.gz file in /tmp but does not extract it to the local folder.
when OPAL Client sends a GET Request to fetch the policy, the server returns 503 Service Unavailable.

I tried cloning the example project
git clone https://github.com/permitio/opal.git
and running
docker-compose -f docker/docker-compose-api-policy-source-example.yml up

but still the same error

Hi @hadiKh19 - we'd need the server logs to provide more help here.
But it sounds like to resulting tar.gz is malformed or otherwise not meeting the OPAL-servers expectations .
Did you try to run the example without any changes ?

I ran the example without changes but still the same error
Here are the Logs for both Server and Client: example_logs.log

For creating the tar.gz file i have used OPAs build bundle command
opa build -b ./policy

@roekatz is this maybe a regression in a recent version?

Hi @hadiKh19 - wanted to let you know we expect delays here, as Roe has been called for reserve duty.
If this is a regression, I can in the meantime suggest you try this with older versions of OPAL.

Hi @Hadi-Khouja , Sorry for the delay.
OPAL bundles are not OPA bundles, they are an alternative for tracking a git repository.
You can create a bundle by doing something like cd opal_files\ ; tar -czf bundle.tar.gz *.

Maybe it is a bit confusing - I'll update the docs to make this point clearer :)
