Using an anchor tag for the mix element causes animation / transition issues

This is less of an issue and more of a courtesy for anyone who runs into this, but using an anchor tag for the elements that get mixed will caused odd animation issues. They are seemingly unsolvable regardless of what layout you use, inline, flexbox, float, etc.
