Zeppe-Lin Release v0.99

Introduction

The Zeppe-Lin project is happy to announce the first stable release v0.99. Happy Birthday, Zeppe-Lin! 🎂 🎉

It represents a selected subset of fixes and updates for beta 2023-01-02 and has no breaking compatibility changes.
So, the simply pkgman sysup --deps --depsort won't break anything. Most likely 😄

Release Notes

Toolchain:

Zeppe-Lin comes with multilib toolchain which includes glibc 2.36, gcc 12.2.0 and binutils 2.39.

Kernel:

Linux 5.4 (LTS, Dec 2025) with Wi-Fi Pentest Patches.

X11:

Xorg 7.7, xorg-server 21.1.8, mesa 23.0.3, amdgpu 23.0.0, ati 22.0.0, intel 2.99.917-916.

Important Notes

core/pkgman:

• Improved pkgman.conf configuration file (added an example how to renice build packages).

core/rc:

• Make screen blanking timeout configurable (see BLANKTIME in rc.conf(5) manual page).

desktop/wgetpaste:

• New package.

Before downloading Zeppe-Lin, please read the handbook(7) to be sure your hardware is supported and you know how to install it.

Also, check mkrootfs if you want to build custom rootfs image, and dockerfile if you want to build docker image.
