After our meeting this morning, I did some sleuthing (i.e., talked to a friend from grad school who works for github now), and there are two versions of Github discussions, one that is for organizations and repos, and one that is for teams (within organizations). The teams one is awful but the organization/repo one seems worth trying out, so I activated it for our nwfsc-assess (current name) organization. No pressure to actually use it, but it is an option.
More importantly, our handbook is now live! Anytime you make a commit to the .qmd files in the repo, a github action should automatically re-render the html files and republish it.
