Thanks @rowanc1 for pointing me to this repository. I am trying to understand the target usage scenarios for reading JATS in the MyST project. This is part of a survey of many FOSS JATS tools that I am documenting at https://baseprints.singlesource.pub/jats/
My question is whether or not the goals of jats-xml is to fully understand JATS XML produced by MyST tools in addition to other tools not part of the MyST project?
For example, the JATS XML produced by Quarto, FidusWriter, and LaTeXML. By "fully understand" I mean read enough of the semantic information to reproduce all the scientific/scholarly information into a new document (PDF or static HTML).
For context, I am looking to document a subset of JATS4R that I'm labeling "Baseprint (JATS) XML". In contrast to MyST markdown, this Baseprint XML is just static content, it does not express document interactivity or executability.
