Network UPS Tools (nut): Can't communicate with local network and why not a version for Intel Macs running Sequoia?

Description of issue

Firstly the network UPS tools utility, in particular upsmon, does not seem to work on Mac OS Sequoia. I upgraded to Sequoia, and now upsmon doesn't seem to communicate with my local network. I'm wondering if this has to do with the new feature in Sequoia for which applications now have to be whitelisted to communicate with local networks. In addition in nut.rb, I don't see reference to a Sequoia version for Intel Macs. I'm running Sequoia on a 2018 Mac Mini.

So, I've installed nut on my M3 Macbook Air running Sequoia to test the arm64 version of nut for Sequoia. This version prompts the user for permission to access devices on local network, and indeed upsmon is added to the whitelist in the Local Network section of Privacy & Security in the Mac's settings. Why is there no equivalent for Intel Macs running Sequoia?

I will also be reaching out to Apple about this. Their implementation of this feature is downright sloppy. There should be functionality by which a user can manually add/remove applications to/from that whitelist. It's ridiculous for developers to have to implement the prompt trigger. In addition, after I was done testing upsmon on my M3 Air, I uninstalled nut as I don't need it on that computer; however, in Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network there's now a ghost entry on the whitelist for upsmon with no apparent way to remove it. What a horrible implementation by Apple developers!
