Hi everyone!
Thank you all for the tremendous efforts you have put into your contributions and submissions in the last 20+ days. The energy in here was contagious!
The mentors will be reviewing the submissions, and will be working with the Outreachy organizers on selection. We know that many of you worked hard on your submissions, and this is to let you know that we really appreciate it (as will the learners who subsequently benefit from them)!
One public service announcement: please make sure that all your folders/documents are accessible in order to receive credit for your contributions. The best way would be to test that they are viewable in an incognito browser window, even when no account is logged-in.
A word of encouragement: It's important to let you know we received quite a number of applications. There are limited slots available, the field is competitive, and the chances are that even people with good applications might not get selected, because of the limit. I don't want this to discourage you, but I feel like this is something that's worth being aware of, so that your expectations are realistic.
Also, we would like to let you know that if you enjoy doing the things we do at Oppia, and you're still interested in helping out with the lessons, there is more for you to do!
However, you are not obligated to do this, and this does not affect your chances of being selected! Here are quick links to the opportunities that are available:
If you have filled any of these forms, and have not gotten a response in 72 hours, please send me or @Giftedgrace an email at [email protected] or [email protected], so we can follow up and get you a response ASAP.
You're also welcome to use the GitHub Discussion board to coordinate or chat (e.g. if you'd like to find ways to bring the lessons to students in your home country). Again, I want to emphasize that these are just opportunities to help out if you would like to continue doing so, and they are not at all a requirement for Outreachy!
Lastly, I wanted to thank you once again for your contributions. We look forward to getting in touch again when the selection period ends!
