Proposed solution

Show something like this: "Please take an orthogonal photo of the single, unopened product in good lighting, as free of reflections as possible, on a neutral (preferably white) background that completely fills the image around the product. Please crop the image to the size of the product." (localized according to user settings)

Additional context

OpenFoodsFacts is growing and other applications are using the OFF data set. Admittedly: Sometimes it is good that a photo is available at all and sometimes you are not in the situation to take an optimal photo, but the desired target condition should be made known.
